Sometimes, staying indoors can get really dull and uninspiring that we just need to step out to the front yard or the patio to feel something different. We just want to enjoy outdoors at home. Many people believe that their front yard or porch is too small to have any fun or spice things up. I am here to tell you that you are wrong, there are so many ways to enjoy your time while staying outside your home.
In this article, we would discuss 7 ways to enjoy the outdoors at home. Let’s get started!
Upgrade your Front Yard, Outdoor Lounge, Patio or Porch
Look, it is hard for anyone to step outside their house and get inspired to have any fun when their front yard looks like it was made in the 80s (and I don’t mean in a good way). If you want to have fun while staying outdoors at home, you have to put in the work required to make it worth your time.
You can start by getting some outdoor furniture designed specifically for the kind of frontal space that you have. The point is that just like our love life, you need to spice up your outdoor area.
My personal favorite is an outdoor sofa on my front porch with warm-colored lights that provide warmth and provides a summer feel even in the winter.
Outdoor Movie Night
So, it is a weekend night, and while it seems like everyone has nothing special to do, no one seems to be interested in watching a movie on the TV or on their laptop. Everyone needs a little spice from time to time. This might be a sign that you need to take things outdoors.
First, I would suggest getting a portable projector, some outdoor chairs, pop some popcorn in the microwave, and set your outdoor patio for a movie night. Get yourself ready for a cozy experience as everyone in your household gets ready for an awesome movie night outdoors. Could you save me a sit?
Backyard Camping
Yeah, yeah! I know, no one wants to go into the woods during winter, but who is talking about the woods anyway. You are set to have fun if you have a backyard that is big enough to accommodate a few camping tents and some campfires without burning out your garden.
From here on, the rest is up to you. You can decide to set up the sound system and blow the minds of your neighbors with some of that your Karaoke collection you have been keeping on your pc. Or, you can decide to have a quiet night out with your family, tell a few fabricated stories about how the tortoise got its broken shell, and eat pizza (at least, that is what I will do).
Have You Ever Heard of Sound Bath?
Wait! You don’t know what a Sound bath is? Okay, I think we need to schedule a trip to Japan for this one. Okay, I’ll spare you the flight. A sound bath is based on the Japanese concept of Shirin-yoku, which translates to forest bath. Shirin-you, therefore, means bathing in the forest’s atmosphere (it is not an actual bath, but hey, there are no rules against taking a dip while you are at it).
The idea is to take in the forest with the use of our senses. It is like you turning into George of the Jungle for a moment, and speaking the language of the woods. Sounds like fun, eh?
In our case, we would not be going to the forest to talk to the trees. All you have to do is put on your bathrobe, pajamas, towel, or your skin (hey, we don’t judge), get something to lay on the floor like a small mattress and just lie there. This works better in the night or evening. Watch the stars, and let your mind wander.
Turn off your phone, and just let the sound of the night take you far into the night. (This sounds like poetry, or is it just me?).
Conclusion
There are many ways for you to have fun and enjoy the outdoors at your own home. You have to think outside the box (In this case, the box is your house). There is fun out there waiting for you; all you have to do is go outside and have it. Save some for us.
